October 25, 2010 update: Blackbelt test at Collins’ Combat Academy!!

Mr. Soliday attended Sensei Scott Collins’ Sapulpa school where his Blackbelt candidate Josh Reed was testing. UGKA blackbelts also attending for the test were Mr. Steve Lemley, 1st DAN, Mr. Leon Longacre, 7th DAN, and Nancie “Tiny” Longacre, 7th DAN.

Josh did an excellent job showing not only his skills but the strength of his endurance and was awarded his Blackbelt in traditional Japanese Goju Ryu Karate.

October 12, 2010 update: Sapulpa Institute of Karate features new up and coming students!

The Sapulpa Institute of Karate, meeting every Tuesday night at 6:30pm, has been training up a class of new karate students. Showing their skills, the latest Soliday students demonstrate their skills under the instruction and guidance of Mr. Ted Soliday, 10th DAN and Mr. Teddy Soliday, 4th DAN. Visiting the class to see the abilities of these up and coming karate students were Nancie “Tiny” Longacre, 7th DAN, and Mr. Leon Longacre, 7th DAN, two of Mr. Soliday’s most senior black belts within the UGKA. During the class, Mr. Soliday also worked with his more advanced students, concentrating their training on kata’s and forms.

The Sapulpa Institute of Karate is the longest running school of martial arts in Oklahoma, with a strong, rich history of training excellent and respected black belts in traditional Japanese Goju Ryu Karate.
