March 1, 2008 update: Soliday students win at the Missouri Nationals!

Mr. Soliday was made very welcome at the Missouri Nationals, and his students had an excellent time competing! Mr. Soliday had a chance to visit with Goju USA Grandmaster David Box, as well as take part in Black Belt event judging. Ms. Katie Carr, 1st DAN, took 4th Place in Forms competition, placing over five other blackbelts! Katie also took 1st Place in Fighting, and was happy to compete in an exhibition match. Kassie Carr took 1st Place in Forms competition, and 3rd Place in Fighting – Chelsea Boen took 1st Place in Forms competition, and 3rd Place in Fighting! With their 1st Place wins, both Kassie and Chelsea had the opportunity to compete for Grand Champion, which was quite an honor! Grandmaster Box was also kind enough to pose for a picture with Katie.

February 29, 2008 update: Mr. Soliday and students travel to the Missouri Nationals Finals Open Karate Tournament

Mr. Soliday and Ms. Katie Carr, 1st DAN, along with Soliday students Scott Carr, Kassie Carr, and Chelsea Boen arrived in Springfield, Missouri on Friday for
the MMASC Awards Banquet, attending at the invitation of Mr. Richard Osborn, Sr, 8th DAN. The MMASC honored their award winners for last year, and also held a door prize drawing with a number of great prizes. Both Chelsea Boen and Katie Carr were winners, which was a nice surprise! Tomorrow morning is the tournament, and everyone is excited to be in Springfield to compete!
